Hi i am new to the area I just moved here from Amarillo, Texas I am interested in joining your church and coming to the services, but I do not want anyone to hate me due to the fact that I am Southern Baptist, I dont know really what all the differences are, but I do know that if you teach a god focused preaching and teach the word of our lord and savior then I do not see how there should be any difference as to whether you are northern or southern. I am a believer in christ I know that he died and shed his blood for my sins and I have a faith in christ as well as my savior. But I just wanted to know if I would be welcome in your church services.

You are definitely welcome to come to our church, cowboyacg. Actually, I think we are southern Baptist, but I'm not sure. Maybe the fact I'm not sure is an encouragement to you? We actually have a number of sister churches, and some of them aren't Baptist at all. We have a Hispanic and a Korean church who meet in our building. I dont' think they are Baptist, at least. El Salvador is where most of those in the Hispanic church are from. We also have a couple of sister churches on the other side of town, one of which was started by bikers. Oh. The church website is sonrisebaptistchurch.com I think the times and such are listed on there. Tell us about yourself. If you notice this forum is a little dead, we are going to try creating one that is more inclusive of the sister churches. Oh. Here is the myspace our pastor has... so you can see what he thinks and everything. www.myspace.com/transformationministryKim

My name is Aaron I am 22 years old, like I said I moved from Amarillo, Texas about a month ago and I am just really getting settled in. I do not really know anyone here I am just getting use to the area and I figured a church would be the best place to get to know some people. As far as background goes, I grew up on a small place with my mom and my dad and my younger brother, we had horses and did alot of team penning and ranch sorting, for fun and for competition. I went to college in Ft. Worth, Texas and have an associates degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design. Alot of people ask me "why did you move to South Dakota," and that is because I got a job offer up here with company formaly known as Broin, but now is called Poet and I am a Process Design Drafter for that company. All and all I am an easy person just trying to make a life for myself and just trying to meet people.

I won't be in church tomorrow Aaron? But I lead a group called the Muses... and we meet every Sunday at 4 pm. We are just beginning really, but we got together and played board games and went bowling the last two Sundays. This Sunday, we're meeting at the church, and Michele wanted to plan a surprise for us. So I dont' know what we're doing yet.
So, hope to see you.

I will try my hardest to get there that sounds like it could be fun, just one question though, where is the church at. I looked on the church website and I believe it said somewhere on Oak Street although I am not to sure where that is.

Hey... I hope you didn't show up late. We waited a bit, but we left to a coffeehouse to play boardgames.
Did you make it to church? The dress? I wear jeans... no dress code. I wasn't at church today, but we did get together at 4 pm.

Cool. I will try to remember what the event was next Sunday at 4 pm. I forget right now. I know we are bike riding in the future, and building games. That might be it, actually. But I'd better find out. Hope to see you. I have some good friends in that Hispanic church.
Dang... I was going to post the coffeehouse we were going to, but I forgot to do that. Sorry.about that.

It was nice to meet you last night. I hope you will be able to join us Sunday morning and then you will be able to meet some more people. It is hard getting started in a new city especially so far from your home in Texas. We moved here from Oklahoma about 20 years ago and that was an adjustment but we have enjoyed it here in Sioux Falls. We look forward to seeing you again.
