Ok. Thought I'd ask a question now and then, just to make it easier for you guys to think of something to say.
So... tell me about your day today.

Today, rather quiet but good. We met Dawson Macallister, he does radio talk show for troubled teens on Sunday nights. It is a national program and is on 104.7 in Sioux Falls, the second secular radio station in the country to broadcast the show. It was good to hear him in person tell about how the show helps troubled teens and to hear from people here in town who run the HOPE-Line when teens call in. Jordan met him too which was fun for him because he listens to the show every Sunday night. They are looking for volunteers to help with this ministry and I was able to get info to have at church that gives specifics so be on the look-out for that. This is an excellent opportunity to be a help to teens. We were also able to talk to several people at the meeting and share what is going on in their lives and hopefully were some help to them. The meeting was held at the Firehouse underground where Lifelight now has offices so we visited with the office staff too. Found out Derek Webb is coming to Lifelight which is a good thing. So, even though fairly low key this was a profitable day as far as Kingdom work goes.

I liked to listen to Dawson when I was a kid too. I think hearing hurting kids and someone actually caring about them was what I loved about it. I guess I felt like I was cared about, too. Not sure.

Today, I was able to take the first nap I've been able to take in a long time. Felt great. Woke up late. Read Blair's speech to some group in LA. I think there is a harm in coding everything one does in the language of values... right/ wrong... evil/ good... fanatics/rationally minded? My professor asked us that one once... what is the danger in speaking of everything in those terms? I think it allows you to justify everything you do. It also lessens the flexibility needed in an effective response. Plus, the world is not that simple. It isn't as simple as evil vs good. There is one fact that fundamentalism in the Middle East is really appealing to the young and is drawing them in in numbers. Does this fact mean those young are evil with evil alone on their minds and hearts? I don't think so, at all. But that is enough of my thoughts on politics.
Then, I took my nap and just woke up. Next, I plan to read an article by a woman who studied how the Lebanon Civil War, that ended in 1989, affected family life in Lebanon. Then, I plan to eat something. Then, I plan to read a bit on Acts. Then, maybe I'll just go to bed early. Ha ha! May as well laze my day away sleeping.
