A summary of what we went through:
About the day of Pentecost. I think Jesus spoke of it in John.
John 14:15-20; 16:21-22
We talked about who Jesus is. That "guilt" isn't just feeling bad about something, that maybe the guilt that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of (John 16:8-11), is more the objective fact that the author of life was killed. So, we talked of who Jesus is.
John 1:1-5; Colossians 1:16-20
They killed this Christ. If sin is in accepting Jesus, then killing Him would represent the worst thing a person could do. They not only would be killing Christ, but themselves. He was the author of life. Their only hope for escape out of their desperate world.
THen HOPE: Acts 2:23-24, 32-36
Even within their worst act, God was in control. Hope. It didn’t end with their choice. This Jesus whom they murdered, chose to speak to each of them in their own tongue.
